The National Lottery Open Week - Printmaking workshops Monday 17th March

To celebrate the incredible support we receive from The National Lottery Community Fund we're opening the Shed for a day of free special community printmaking workshops.

There will be a morning and afternoon session with both focusing on Collagraph and Gelli printing.

Come and discover Broadstairs Town Shed, enjoy a cuppa, some cake and a chat whilst losing yourself in a couple of hours of mindful craft activity learning something new.

The kettle will be on from 10am with the workshops running between 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30-3.30pm on Monday 17th March.

French Polishing Upskilling Session

With thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, as part of the Know Your Neighbourhood project, we were delighted to welcome Hamish Currie, from Hamish Currie Antique Restoration, to the Shed for a 2 day French Polishing workshop.  The aim of this, and upcoming workshops in wood carving and pyrography, is to upskill our volunteers to share their skills with Shedders and community groups, to spread the wellbeing benefits of wood related crafts.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this two day course. As you would expect the course tutor, Hamish Currie,  was extremely knowledgeable in the field  of French polishing, but he was able to deliver it in a fun and engaging way, and it has certainly stirred my appetite to learn and do more of this wood craft.”

We're keen to share what we've learnt.  If your community group would be interested in a Friday session on either French Polishing or an Introduction to Antique Restoration, then please get in touch with debbie@broadstairstownshed.org.uk
